(NGLCC) The National Gay & Lesbian
Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) stands with
our long time organizational partner the U.S.
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) and
applauds NBCUniversal and Macy’s for cutting
ties with presidential hopeful Donald Trump
over controversial comments he recently made
about Mexican immigrants.
As a businessman, Mr. Trump should
understand the value of diversity and see
it as an engine of economic growth. While
well-intentioned Americans can certainly
have differing opinions over immigration,
inflammatory and divisive language has no
place in our public discourse.
Macy’s and NBC’s decisions to disassociate
with Trump represent corporate America at
its finest. From our partnerships with over
a third of Fortune 500 companies, we know
that major corporations are often leaders in
workplace, market and supply chain inclusion.
Companies have nothing to gain by isolating
consumers, which is why we increasingly
see companies working to build inroads with
The Swinging Richards Nightclub in
Pompano Beach has closed down. Previously,
the nightclub catered to gay clientele and
women were allowed to enter with a male
escort. The dancers inside the club perform
nude. While a rainbow flag still flies from atop
the building at 1350 SW 2nd Street in Pompano
Beach, a sign states the business is going
through remodeling with a phone number
(754-207-5324) posted for inquires. SFGN
called the number and left a message but as of
press time has yet to receive a return call.
After days of speculation, a notice was
posted on Facebook announcing the club
would turn into a straight club.

In response to U.S. Supreme Court decision
that legalized same-sex marriage, which
sparked the White House to lite up in rainbow
colors, Russian President Vladimir Putin's
United Russia party has unveiled their very
own "heterosexual pride" flag.
Russia's new straight pride flag shows a
man and a woman holding hands with three
children. Under the image is the hashtag
"#RealFamily" in Russian.
The flag looks unsurprisingly familiar to the
flag for La Manif Pour Tous -- France's anti-gay
political party. A Russian parody news agency
noted this and jokingly accused the Russian
party of stealing it. They also mocked that
one of the changes United Russia made to the
image was to make the mother's waist larger
than her French equivalent.
